Hello,
I can only engage gears when the car is shut off. Once i start the car, i can no longer engage any gears. I have checked the shifter arm bushings, they are fine. Checked trans fluid, level is fine, color is brownish and a little murky. Checked and re-adjusted the shift cable at the crossover cable adjusting screw inside the console. None of this had any effect. However, the shifter can be smoothly run thru all gears while engine is off.

A friend told me there is a safety switch malfunction causing the shift lock. I was unable to locate anything like he described.
I am stumped. Any ideas?

Hi, sorry for the late post. thanks for the donation. I'd have to put a scanner on it, to help pin-point the problem. I can give you the location of shift interlock solenoid, not sure that will fix it?
