2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser smells like burned antifreeze but

I just purchased this car and i notice it smells like burned antifreeze but the colant hasn't gone down at all. and i see no leak at all. what could be the problem. It passed smog test and runs great the smells only apears on the outside and it goes away really fast.

should have the coolant system pressure checked
