2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser Oil in the coolant

I mistakenly placed oil in the engine coolant and want to know how much harm i caused. THe coolant cap is right next to the oil cap and I wasn't paying attention (apparently). I did set up an appointment for an oil change but am emabarassed to tell my mechanic. Please advise on this matter.

Get the cooling system flushed out thoroughly and replace the thermostat
