Went to the dealership with the check engine light on and what sounded like a motor problem when I accelerated.
Twenty minutes later told I needed a new engine - "replace the long block"
Code P0305 CYL #5 Misfire
Monitored by the tech who reported Cly #5 dead.
Estimated $6400 plus to repair.
Of course warranty expired at 70000.

Any advice?

Was the engine making a noise? Did they check it for compression?
