2004 Chrysler Pacifica the fans

Once I trun the car on are the fans suppose trun on or when I trun on the ac or heat? Thats the only they trun on!

There are a number of different triggers that turn the fans on. A/C is one of them. They will also come on for temperature but the temp will be higher than normal operating temp.
