AC wont turn off

2001 Chrysler T&C LXI, AC wont shut off or turn down, blower continues to run at full speed after AC dial is shut off.

can the switch be set to something else like defrost.?? can you set it on hot and get it to blow hot.... im just asking some of these? so we can get a better idea what might be going...
