1986 Other Chrysler Models V8 Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 97060 miles

I have a 1986 Plymouth Caravelle I got a backyard mechanic to put a new carb in my car and since then I had big prb with it now and the gas go fast in it too it is a good car i got it for 300.00 and I want to get it runin right. Thank you

The mixture must be set using a tachometer to get max efficiency. Was that done?
