Engine Mechanical problem
Chrysler New Yorker V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 99000 miles

In order to start my car, I have to hit the gas pedal. Sometimes, more so lately, the pedal sticks and I have to keep slamming the pedal in order for it to come out of it. Its been taking more and more slamming of the gas in order to come out of it. I'm not sure what its from, but I know my idling is turned up high. Could this be the problem?

Hi:
It sounds like the cable may have freyed. Because of the potential danger of this problem, I strongly recommend that you have the car towed to a shop for repairs.
