1996 Chrysler New Yorker won't move out of gear

Have had car since new and have replaced engine. Problem just started where after a while of warming up it seems to stick in 1st or 2nd gear. At 40 mph it will be at 3000-3500rpms.

Have the trans scanned for codes to see what failures/problems the PCM has recorded. Could be a sensor in the trans is bad and the computer cant shift it or doesnt know it is supposed to
