1994 Chrysler New Yorker Replacing the Rack and Pinon

Steering problem
1994 Chrysler New Yorker 6 cyl Automatic

I was just wondering if there were any tips or tricks to properly installing a new rack and pinon to my 1994 Chrysler New Yorker. I installed one already but it didnt give me full steering, I think it was the wrong part, but I am also wondering if theres common mistakes and or tips to make this job a little easier.
