1991 Chrysler New Yorker head lamps

headlamps have been working then not working then worked again then off again...tried replacing the head light switch and still not working, appreciate any suggestions running lights work and brights will come one if hold the switch but go off if let go

Have you checked to make sure the multi function on the steering column (signal switch)? It sounds like it may be shorting internally.
