Engine Performance problem
2000 Chrysler Neon 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 90000k miles

from stop position, car is very slow to accelerate, put pedal to floor little acceleration gradually gets into another gear once engine rev comes up, once you get to 60k it seems to be better

sometimes it will all of a sudden rev & jerk forward on its own

Possibilities: Inspect and test all the following listed below:

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Crankshaft position sensor
Knock sensor
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard it.
