My car has a very strong gas smell coming from the exterior after i had pulled into my garage. I never noticed any gas smell on the drive home, coming from the inside of the car. But immediatedly after I got out and closed the garage door...it smelled like a huge fuel spill...and permiated into my house. I had to park it outside. I also did not see any fuel spillage. (if that's a word)
This has happend once before but the smell was also inside the car. (I forget what was fixed at that time).....
What is it this time??? A fuel pump going south? I have not experienced any sluggishness from acceleration or such. I'm paranoid to drive it to work tomorrow. Should we just tow it to our shop or can it be driven? It IS unsafe to drive when one smells fuel correct?

Any time there is a fuel leak, there is danger of fire. Where did you see the leak from the front or rear? Also, a bad fuel pump won't cause a leak so don't let anyone talk you into that.
