What is a "fuel rail"? It costs $500 just for the part! I had my car in for a fuel smell under the hood and the fumes were so strong when you drove! It cost me $300 for parts and labor 2 weeks ago. I took it back and still leaking. Now this expensive part and I CANNOT AFFROD this repair. Is there anything I can do that will still be a safe repair?

Thanks, Tiffany Taylor

I would say yes on most things. But I think you should just try and get an alternate ride for now. Maybe you'll get some money. A high pressure line is too important to go anyway but new. Maybe you could phone around, get a low price, and get the lowest price to repair, in writing.
Be like a construction contractor. It's not a do it yourself type repair and those fumes are what bad newspaper car accidents are many times the culprit. If it is done, tell em you would like all new 'o' rings and clamps. OK Might as well get it done right. Ok
