1994 Chrysler LHS 6 cyl Automatic 90000 miles

I just recently purchased a 1994 Chrysler LHS its runs good but idles rough. The timing belt and water pump have both been replaced. What could be causing it to idle rough? Another problem I have is that the gas gauge is off. When it says it has a quarter tank of gas it is actually empty, how easy would this problem be to fix. I am a single mom with very limited funds.

Has the check engine light come on for the rough idle? Also, chances are the fuel pump float is bad. You need to replace the pump / float assembly in the fuel tank.

Let me know if you have other questions.
