There are three motors. I can't remember if the switches are in the door or on the seat. If they're on the door, and only the forward / backward motor doesn't work, suspect frayed wires between the door hinges. Peek under the seat and look for the three electrical connectors plugged into the motors. Unplug two of them, switch them and plug them into the opposite motors. If the forward / backward motor runs with the wrong switch, you know the motor is ok. At least you can move the seat now.
You can do the same test if the switches are on the seat. If one of the up / down functions doesn't work now, you'll know the front / back switch is the problem.
