the car had been sitting for about 4 months my son who knows all connected the jumper cables to the battery backwards. the car needing jumping was not started but the jumping car was. the cables connected wrong were on the car not started. the problem is it started smoking and then melting the cables. after shock came panic and finally the remnants of jumper cables were knocked off battery.
something in the upper left hand corner of the engine smoked and then a little box in the right hand side towards the front of the car that has a bunch of wires tucked inside was smoking. i dont know what to do now. can i just replace the battery and try to start it? or will i cause damage? did i fry the car now? can it blow up? please help me im not hearing my son after this until i hear it from someone who is over 22. haha. l
