car has set for awhile started it and when at idle noticed orange glow at the engine compart under the intake manifold looks like exhaust manifold and pipe after it car runs good but idles a little higher then normal have checked vacume lines for leaks

Hi:
I'm not sure what was orange, but it may have been the cat converter. Keep an eye on it. It shouldn't get that hot. It may be plugged. If it continues to get orange, have someone look at it for possible replacement.
