My daughters car has an unusal problem. If the car is driven for more then an hour the car gets poor acceleration and shortly there after the brake light comes on and the brakes get mushy. There is also a small amount of smoke or steam that come from under the hood. It has a burned plastic smell The brake fluid seems fine and I don't see any signs of brake fluid on the ground. If the car is turned off and allowed to cool the problem goes away. When I check it all seems ok. Any ideas?

are you losing any brake fluid??? also, this can be caused by a bad vacuum hose off the booster...
