My husband recently dropped my shifting lever down into D1, where it got stuck. He could not get it into Drive, but by brute force, he managed to get the shifter into Park, but the transmission did not go into Park. At this point, we can move the shifter but cannot get it into either park or neutral to get it started. Is this a problem tha you could help us with? Thank you in advance.

Hi:
What I suggest is to inspect the shifter linkage under the car. You may have bent or broken something.
