Getting the axle back into the transmission?

I changed ball joints on my Voyager 95 mod with manual transmission and the axle on the left side slipped out about an inch. I can't get it back in again. Is there any solution to this?

Pull it all the way out and check the clip on the end, it may be damaged! If the clip is bent, get a new clip for it.
