I have a problem when pulling away from junctions/lights. I need to rev the engine to ensure I can pull away. All other driving conditions the engine is fine. Could this be a fuel filter/housing problem or something more serious?

i believe this problem stems from your idle air control valve , have it tested /replaced if necessary
