2001 Chysler Grand Voyager smoke and clicking noise from co

2001 Chysler Grand Voyager Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Manual 98000 miles

Hi,
My car has a clicking noise from behind the dash board when starting from cold. This is accompanied by a slight whining noise too. Then after driving for a few miles and stopping there is a lot of white smoke coming from a pipe outside below the passenger door. Someone told me this was another part of the exhaust system?
Would appreciate any help that you can give me.

Hi:

I truly don't know of any exhaust parts coming out below the passanger door. Yes, the exhaust runs along the passanger side, but exits in the rear. Is this pipe coming from the cat?
