i hjave a chrysler grand vpyager uk model v plate 99 diesal, i started losing antifreeze coolant from the underside of engine after long drives, now the fan comes on the the temperature guage is rising,

coud this be a hose or is iot the water pump? is there any way of telling. If this is the pump please can you supply directions to change the unit

Hi Sarah Jane:

Well, to determine if it is the pump or a hose, you will need to get under the vehicle. Try to dry the underside off so you can get a better look at where it may be coming from. Next, locate the waterpump. The under side of the pump has a weap hole that will leak if the bearing / seal is bad. Check there for stains / coolant.

If it is dry, then you will need to continue your search. Check coolant lines and the radiator.
