when my car is idleing at light sometimes it just cuts off. It takes a few times for it to turn back on

If the light is on, there is a trouble code stored in the computer. Take it to a nationally recognized parts store and have it scanned for codes. Most will do it for free.

The code will help us identify the problem, so let me know what code they get.
