Engine Performance problem
2004 Chrysler Concorde 6 cyl Automatic

I have a 2004 Chrysler Concorde LXI the check engine light came on and the car is misfiring. This happened in Feb 2010 and the mechanic installed a new cam sensor under the upper intake. I took it to a different mechanic this time, they replaced the same thing as the one recently installed was no longer functional. They took it for a test drive and the engine light is back on and the car continues to misfire. This mechanic says he can't figure out what is wrong with the car.

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on.

We had one come in our shop. Check engine light with CMP sensor, random cylinder misfire and MAP OOR codes. We noticed that they had the intake off, the crank sensor replaced. The TPS, the IAC and several coil packs were replaced as well. When car reached operating temps it stalls. We started it right back up unpluged the CMP sensor and it ran rest of day. We found that they had replaced the ECM but didnt have it flashed to offset the cam/crank settings. Therefore the computer is fighting the cam. Also, if the tensioner is leaking down it will offset the cam just enough force it to loose the reference signal and kill it but not jump time.
