1999 Chrysler Concorde noise from transmission

I hear a noise from the transmission its a whining hum

some what high pitched and last night it would not shift into gear then it would after i got home and shut the car down for a while but the hum is still there.

I have had it for 3yrs and i never had the trans mission changed

have the tranny checked its may need to be rebuilt
very famous for the pin to brake on the differential end
