when driving for a while my check engine soon light kicks on and my (broken) rpm needle starts working again... it feels like the car wants to stall and it does it aroun when i drive long distances or between 30-40 mph... could this be a egr valve?...or something different?....

Cycle the ignition key to check for codes. Turn the key to ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON. Read your odometer LCD screen and jot down the codes and report back.
