My son just bought his first car..and basically got what he paid for $1500. While my husband can fix most of what's wrong (brakes, lights, etc.) we're not sure about the gas gauge in the instrument panel

All other gauges in the panel work fine, but the gas gauge is stuck at a half full (or empty!) It doesn't budge whether the tank is full or close to empty. Supposedly the fuel pump had just been replaced in it. Could this be related to the problem. Since he didn't pay much for the car, we don't want to sink a lot of $$ in repairing this problem. ANY help will be appreciated!

Unfortunately you have to get access to the fuel tank again. Your fuel sending unit is bad. It is a part of your fuel pump assembly.
