Hi,

My Chrysler Cirrus power steering stoped working suddenly. I added power steering liquid and that didn't help. My frind took a look at it and said that belt that is attached to the motor and power steering pump is not rotating, and is probably loose.

My question is what would be the risk to the car if I kept driving it for next few days as is, since I am a student and need to get some cash together to fix this problem.

Thank you in advance for your help, I realy apreciate it.

Sincerely,

Maryana

Hi:
If the belt is loose, no money is needed. You just have to adjust the belt tight enough so the pump turns. However, if it had no fluid in it, it may be locked and need replaced. Try the belt first and let me know what you find.
