I am unable to start engine due to factory installed alarm system. When I use the key in either door, I am not able to set the alarm system so that the engine will start. Please help. Thank you.

Hi Piggy123. Welcome to the forum. It is possible for the switch linkage to become detached from the lock assembly, but the more common problem is broken or frayed wires between the door hinges. Broken wires would affect each door at different times since it's unlikely two wires would break at exactly the same time. Of course the same can be said of two different switches. If the passenger side switch or wiring failed first, it might have not been noticed since it's more common to use the driver's door.
