Engine Performance problem
1986 Chrysler 5th Avenue V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 80k miles

i recently changed the valve cover gaskets on the car. once i started the engine up the car idled fine in park once the car came to normel operating tempurate. then i shifted the car into drive and the car began to idle very rough and shake the entire car. i tried the other drive gears and reverse and same thing, i then put the car in nuetrel and the car went back to a normal idle. what could cause this?

Sorry it's been almost a month since your post. Did you solve the problem? Suspect loose spark plug wires or two of them are switched. Listen closely to the engine while standing next to it, in park. A plug wire problem will result in the engine not idling smoothly, but you often can't hear or feel it in the car in park or neutral because there's no load on it.
