What is the black bar/rod that supports the alternator, a long bolt runs through it. Someone said it's an alternator and compressor bracket, I looked at a picture but it doesn't look like it. Presently the alternator is hanging and my belts squeal. The bar is attached at possibly the top of the motor and it attaches the alternator, it's not on the bottom where you can tightened the belts.

Hi:
That is a support for the alt. To tighten the belt, you will need to loosten all of the mounting bolts, tighten the alt, and retighten the mounting bolts.
