I was helping out my wife's niece and boyfriend with there car last weekend. They drove from Fresno down to Los Angeles which I told them I would not recommend it.

I decided to remove the valve covers just to inspect the rocker arms and Wow! Timing chain tension-er guide had a bolt sticking out. They were very lucky the bolt did not fall in the chain area or engine would be toast.

Upon further inspection found the guide broken in half. The tension-er was missing a clip and seal. It was Saturday afternoon so parts are limited. We got a new tension-er. I used some epoxy to glue the guide back and actually worked?

The timimg cover threads were stripped so hopefully they get the parts next week to properly fix it. Car is still running.
