stering can turn in any direction but shifter stuck in park. car starts ok no alrams on dashboard. thanks a lot

Can you find out what type of transmission you have? The 42RLE's have had a similar problem. Park pawl anchor pin and cups seems to have been the most common cause. Use a suitable tool to tap cup plug into position.
