Hi, I recently purchased a 2000 300M and after awhile I started to hear a noise that sounded as if the engine was working too hard, and I first I thought it was the transmission. I took it in and apparently it is the ball bearings. It was only going to be around $350 to have them replaced, but I did not have the money at the time, and still don't. Problem is that I have to drive about 300 miles a week due to my job, and the noise is getting worse. What is going to happen if I continue to delay getting this done? It has been about 2 months that I was told I needed to do this and expect that I should be able to get the work done around the 1st of November. Until then, is it okay to keep driving my car?

Call the shop back and ask exactly what bearings are bad. Post back.
