Interior problem
1999 Chrysler 300 6 cyl Automatic 75000 miles

I want to replace the inside door handle on the drivers side.
I have the replacement part(s) and have the door panel off, but I don't know how to remove the pin on the old one nor get the pin inserted on the new one.

On the back end of the door handle (the end that goes through the door psnel) there is a cavity that holds a spring that is held in place by a 1/16" dia. X 2" steel pin. It is positioned vertically and its ends go through holes in the top and bottom of the handle cavity.
However, the handle sits within a recess in the door panel which obstructs the removal of the old pin (to replace the old broken handle) and the insertion of the new pin (when the new handle is to be put in place).

Are you able to get needle nose pliers in to get it or a small screwdriver?
