Two days ago I started noticing a chirping sound coming from the rear of my vehicle. At first I thought it was stuff in the back, then I WD40 my entire rear hatch and it’s still chirping. It’s getting worse, it chirps loud but will stop for only a few seconds. It chirps depending on speed, braking, and turning but it’s so bad now that I can’t Uber.

More than likely this is a rubber suspension component that is failed. Unfortunately the only way to figure it out is inspect them.

Clearly the the pictures are extreme examples but these are the things we need to look for on all the rear suspension components.

If you can get a recording of the noise that may help with some ideas.

Yes, I’ve put 95,000 miles on my car in only 2 years. Being an Uber driver so going from 121,000 to 215,000 has been very hard on my suspension. I’m almost embarrassed to admit I figured out that squeak at 4:00 this morning, it was my jack in the sidewalk in back, lol.
