Hello, you may have some debris from previous pump failures circulating in the system. What I would suggest is flushing it 2-3 times with new fluid using the procedure below and installing a filter on the return line.
If this does not resolve the issue check the reservoir for a screen and if it looks clogged replace the reservoir assembly.
Also be sure to check belt tension.
REPLACING POWER STEERING FLUID
1. Jack up the front wheels and support them with jack stands.
2. Disconnect the return hose from the oil reservoir and plug the oil reservoir.
3. Connect a vinyl hose to the disconnected return hose, and drain the oil into a container.
4. Disconnect the high-tension cables and ignition coils. While operating the starter motor intermittently, turn the steering wheel to the limit of left and then to the limit of right several times to drain the fluid.
After that, connect the high-tension cables and coils.
5. Connect the return hoses securely, and then fill the oil reservoir with the specified fluid.
6. Start the engine.
Check for oil leakage.
7. Stop the engine.
