Chirp/Squealing noise

I have a chirp/squealing noise (not sure which one it is) underneath my hood. I replaced my serpentine belt and tension-er, yet the noise still permits. My mechanic suggested that it may be under the timing cover, but I am a bit skeptical as timing belts do not make this noise. I have heard it could be a water pump noise or a bad bearing in the alternator from reading online. What is my best bet?

If the noise is there when you just run the engine, remove the serpentine belt and run and see if noise is gone, if so start checking all accessories driven by belt of a worn bearing. if noise is still there i will probably be in the timing belt, they can make a noise if there is any oil on the belt.
