2003 3.4 liter Venture loosing Coolant. We have been told that there is no leak but the thermostat and temperature sensor need to be replaced. Have been quoted > $500.00. Is this plausible and are the thermostat/temperature sensor replacement possible for a borderline novice?

Hard to comment on prices. Although it doesn't sound right for whatever reason.

I would be more expectant of an intake manifold gasket leak that would run about $800 as a approximation. VERY common on these motors.

Where are you losing the coolant?
External of internal?
