2002 Chevy Venture 'Ticking' sound

2002 Chevy Venture Automatic 188000 miles

I bought this vehicle 2 weeks ago & a few days ago it started making a ticking sound under the hood. My husband is mechanical but isn't too familiar with the newer vehicles. I was wondering if you might have an idea what may be the problem (we just had a baby & $ is very tight) Thanks! Kerry

I have an 04 Venture and have the same noise. I have tolerated it till now but would like to find what it is. It must be electrical in nature 'cause it starts with the key in the on position, and continues until you turn the van off. The ticking frequency doesn't vary with speed or get louder. It's just there. Sounds it coming from in the dash, behind the speedo cluster.
