My car is a chev venture 2002. If engine is on and it's on Park, hissing sound is heard if brake pedal is pressed. The sound is audible near the brake pedal location. The sound is like air being released like 'air break'. It seems I don't have any problem but the sound is audible and it's bugging me.

Thanks for any help.

any brake fluid visable on the inside of dash by the brake pedal? brake light on in the dash? a master cylinder would make a small noise as you applied the pesal but not enough to hear sitting in the seat.

I have it fixed. It was the brake booster. Thanks for the reply.
