I have chevy venture van which air conditioner isn't working in. We took it to get freon put in it and it made the air work for few days then it stoped blowing cold air again so we took it to a auto repair shop and had freon and dye put in it once again it worked right for few days. Then stoped blowing cold air so we took it back and they looked to see where it was leaking. It's leaking at bottom connecting hose to radiator. They told us where it was leaking then followed up by saying the compressor needed to be replaced to fix it. Does this sound right? I didn't think it could be the compressor because when freon was in it the air conditioner worked great but after it leaks out it blows but its hot air. So I thought it just needed that hose thats leaking replaced.

A leak in the system is not only it will lose freon but also the lubricant oil that will cause a premature failure of the compressor
