2001 Chevy Venture turn signals

i have a 2001 chevy venture van, when you go to turn the left or right turn signals on both turn signals illuminate on the dash and the exterior of the vehicle any ideas what this could be. was thinking maybe a short or bad switch.?

So the signal light up but will not blink
I would check and suspect the flasher relay
check for any missing bulbs or burnt
