2000 Chevy Venture Front Wheel Drive Automatic 153000 miles
Slipping might be the right word, I don't know. Basically now without a trailer it just takes higher speed/rpms before it shifts up. So for instance at around 55mph it revs like you would expect it to shift up into overdrive but it doesn't happen until 75. It affects the gas mileage and my stress level but other than that it drives fine. With the trailer it is the same problem only more extreme. Nick described it as popping out of overdrive but it just strains really hard to pull it (even empty) and any little incline or stiff wind makes it down shift and rev like crazy and the temp goes way up. Then sometimes you can smell it if you are outside the car.
The trailer mentioned is a 4 X 6 cargo trailer (700#gvw) carrying an 800# wheelchair.
