On my 99 Venture last week I went to clean my windshield and noticed that my wipers were hitting each other as they worked. Then I noticed that the driver's side wiper was moving much slower then the passenger and it go so bad to the point that when they hit once it snapped the blades off. I replaced the blades and tested to see if the problem was still there and now ONLY the driver's side goes up maybe a 1/4 of the way up and the passenger side works completely fine. Is this a motor or switch problem or maybe just the arm of the wiper blade needs to be fixed? When I open the hood I can see the rotating nut inside trying to move the blade but it just stops after just a couple inches?

Hi there,

You may need to re set the wiper arm position, with the wipers off and in the parked position (down) remove the arm of the suspect wiper, take off the lower nut on the arm and give it a wiggle it should pop off, check the serrations on the drive and see of the arm is in good condition where it fits on to the pivot, re fit arm in parked position and tighten up, the pivot may be slipping due to a loose nut or worn mounting point, look her first.
