A few days ago my 1999 Venture just stop going. I was driving it and slowed down to let soemone turn and when I went to accelerate it wouldn't go. There was no noise, no leaking. However when I shift gears there is no indication that it is shifting gear. I have talked to a few people who said if the trans dropped I would have known it. We are pretty sure it has something to do with the trans but not sure what part. Can you give me any ideas of what to check before I have to bring the van to a "professional" who I would assume will tell me I need a whole new trans. Thanks

There was an updated valve body released for this vehicle. The valve body can cause a non shift condition. Have the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic scanner at a trans shop.
