1998 Chevy Venture Windshield wipers won't park

1998 CHEVROLET VENTURE

I removed the wiper motor on my Venture to replace the windshield wiper washer tank. In doing so I moved the transmission arm on the wiper motor, and now my wipers will not park correctly. What do I do to fix this issue?

They do not park in the down position or they are always on
wrong position
remove wiper transmission from the motor
turn wiper on and off
remove key from them ignition
place wiper in the down position and connect them to the motor
good luck
