my a/c stops sending cool air through vents when I accelerate engine.

Check your freon level to ensure it is at proper level. You can buy a recharge kit which includes the freon gauge at most auto part stores and do this yourself without any problems. The gauge should go to, or close to, the blue area on the gauge.
